I was lucky to have minimal issues at launch compared to most, and this collection just brings me pure joy anytime I need it. It sucks that it was cast off for so long, but looking at where it's gotten to is incredible to me. I don't blame anyone for not giving 343 the time of day after such a mess, but to me they've earned some redemption with the amount of effort and polish that's been heaped on this game in the intervening years. ![]() ![]() I thought LiS2 was solid, but nowhere near as impactful for me as 1.ģ. Special shout-out to Before the Storm too, because that game turned out so much better than it could've given the developer change/voice acting woes. I know the ending(s) are divisive but to me they stuck the landing perfectly. I know a lot of people don't like the episodic slow drip model but it totally worked in the game's favor because it allowed for some really intense and wild theorycrafting from the fanbase along the way, and that stuff can't be replicated if it's all just put out there. Loved the journey and the characters, corny dialogue included, from beginning to end. But when the 2nd episode came out someone whose opinion I trust told me it was amazing so I ended up buying it. I saw this game as a 2nd-rate Telltale knockoff and intended to skip it. I was very dismissive of it at first having watched the Giant Bomb quick look and how bad the dialogue seemed. Life is Strange: I know this game did release on 360/PS3 but it came out a decent way into the generation so I'm counting it. We put up a fight but ended up losing a ton of treasure (we were about to do a vault too) but still had a ton of fun in the process.Ģ. Just today I was playing a duo sloop and we got pounced on by Reapers while we were paying attention to other stuff. Sea of Thieves: Incredible game that keeps getting better, still play at least once a week with a friend or two. ![]() Its about 2 hours long, but its a prefect length for what it tries to accomplish and I can see myself revisiting it a few times over the years as i have other titles in this genre that i've enjoyed.1. I will say, I also went into the game completely blind having it recommended to me, and i'm very glad I did, I will link the trailer, but it doesn't really do the game justice. Highly recommended if it sounds like you'd enjoy it, interesting, Lynchian, and with a beautiful musical score (That won a BAFTA). I do have a few small issues with its narrative, but overall found it to be one of the more standout titles i'd played last year and certainly the most interesting. The game also has zero dialogue and is completely visual in its story telling. It does however also fit into the walking simulator genre but is structured very differently from Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture in its narrative and how you explore, it essentially uses jump cuts to explore its environments and it works really brilliantly and helps the game keep a very brisk pace and tell an interesting story. I just finished playing through Virginia and it fits the description of chill, mysterious and with an interesting and chill narrative perfectly.
